Joaquim Tenreiro ‘Movimento’ Sculpture
An exceptionally rare and large ‘Movimento’ sculpture designed by Joaquim Tenreiro in 1970. The work is executed in perobinha-do-campo, using two different cuts of the wood, carefully composed to emphasise the flowing geometry and rhythmic repetition characteristic of the design.
Authentic examples of Tenreiro’s sculptures are exceedingly scarce. This sculpture has been certified by Instituto Tenreiro and originates from the residence of Guilherme Menezes Quixadá Aragão, Copacabana, Rio de Janeiro.
